Virginia Langum is particularly interested in the connection between bodily and religious experiences, and how the border between ethics and medicine is described. Among other things, she has studied how the seven sins were used in religious and medical texts and images in the Middle Ages, what ideas existed about pain and emotions, and how the relationship between religion, medicine, ethics and physiology appeared.
Virginia Langum will receive the Kungl. Skytteanska Samfundets award at the Annual Celebration Ceremony on 21 October at 17:00 in Aula Nordica.
