The Eco-Visionaries exhibition includes video works, sound works, drawings, books, and installations presenting alternative views and ideas on humans' relation to nature ecologies, social ecologies, and mental ecologies - systems that are inextricably linked and affect each other. The participating artists propose more sustainable attitudes to man's place on Earth. Works by Ursula Biemann, (b. 1955, Switzerland) and Paulo Tavares (b. 1980, Brazil), Carolina Caycedo (b. 1978, the UK), the international group Futurefarmers, Marjetica Potrč (b. 1953, Slovenia), Samuel Roturier (b. 1982, France), Erik Sjödin (f. 1979, Sweden), Leena Valkeapää (b. 1964, Finland) and Oula-Antti Valkeapää (b. 1970, Finland), and Elin Már Øyen Vister (b. 1976, Norway).
Jochen Lempert (b. 1958, Germany) once studied to be a biologist, but since the early 1990s he works as an artist with black and white, analogue photography as his primary medium. However, animals and nature are his principal motifs, which he observes with a gaze and perception that is as much an academic researcher's as an artist's. In the exhibition room, Jochen Lempert presents his photographs in poetic and subtle compositions. He combines various images to evoke associations and new interpretations. Jochen Lempert's work has been shown in art museums all over the world. This is his first solo exhibition in the Nordic countries.
