Ann-Catrine Eriksson, Art historian, and Christina Svens, Theatre historian, gives a guest tour in the Dada is Dada exhibition on the fifth floor at Bildmuseet. They will focus on the cross-boundary expressions of the Dada movement, and the great courage to question everything to be able to make a difference in art as well as in society.
Ann-Catrine Eriksson is an Art Historian and programme director
at the Faculty of Art, and Christina Svens is a Theatre and Literature historian, both at Umeå University.
This event is part of the programme in conjunction to the exhibition Dada is Dada, with works from one of the most influential art movements of the 20th century. Dada began in 1916 in Zurich as a reaction to the conservative values of bourgeois society and conventional aesthetic ideals, to nationalism, and to the on-going First World War. In just a few years, the movement spread across the world. The exhibition is produced by Bildmuseet with loans from private collectors in Europe.
