About Culture on Campus
Free culture for students, faculty and staff - every week at lunchtime!

Culture on Campus is a project which aims to inspire through cultural events on our campus. In fact, it was the first known project of its kind at higher education institutions in Sweden, which makes it quite special. We typically arrange and produce at least one event per week - always during lunchtime, somewhere on campus. We present many musical acts, but also literature, theatre, circus, film, photography, dance and art.
We offer a mix of local and national acts, as well as international ones. Culture on Campus is made possible through collaborative efforts, as we work together with many cultural groups, organisations and associations in Umeå, as well as other parts of Sweden.
Since our start in 2003, the concept of Culture on Campus had been to help contribute to a more lively campus setting. We hope that our concerts, theatrical performances, author visits and much more, can lead to a creative and interesting atmosphere. In 2008, we presented 45 acts that were seen by approximately 25,000 spectators.
This is something you won't find at any other university!
