Positive trend with PhD Students
[2013-05-14] The month of May is intense at the Department of Computing Science with several dissertations and licentiate seminars. A total of five PhD students defend their jobs during the month.
“The Department has for a long time had a positive trend with increasing number of graduate students. I hear so much good said about the skills of our students. And it is particularly gratifying that the research at our department attract so many talented outside Sweden to Umeå”, says Pedher Johansson, Head of the Department of Computer Science.
“I think it shows that both our research and our research education have a very high international standard. Both supervisors and students should feel proud”, Pedher Johansson continues.
During May Emadeldeen Hassan has submitted his licentiate thesis entitled Metallic Antenna Design Based on Topology Optimization Techniques, and Mostafa Pordel has defended his lic thesis titled Object classification and image labeled product using RGB Depth information. (Both pictured above.)
During May, will also Esubalewe Lakie Yedeg defend his licentiate thesis Generalized General Logics, while Daniel Sjölie and Robert Helgesson defend their dissertations on 17 and 28 May.
