Thinking critically about psychology: Power, gender, and psychological practice
[2013-05-27] A conference for psychology students and practitioners
On Friday, a one-day conference with both psychologists and psychology students will explore ways in which psychology – as clinical practice and as academic discipline – is grounded in the cultural and sociopolitical surround.
The goals are twofold: First, the presentations shed light on the historical situatedness of psychological knowledges, thus making practitioners of psychology more aware of things that are usually invisible. Second, the conference highlights new research tools for doing critical analyses of disciplinary practices. ´
