Umeå University first in Sweden with Google+ page
[2011-11-08] Today, Umeå University exanded its social media presence with the launch of its official Google+ page. Google recently allowed for organizations and businesses to create pages, and Umeå was quick to get its up and running.
Google+ Pages became available on Monday 7 November, and are similar to personal Google+ profiles in that they let people engage with an organization or business much as they would with anyone else over the network.
For Umeå University, the social media service makes it possible to add new followers - such as students, staff, community members, and partners - to various circles and address them in a segmented way.
