Umeå University ranked among world's top
[2012-09-13] Umeå University was ranked 297th in the QS World Ranking that evaluates the world's best universities in 2012/13. This places Umeå University seventh in Sweden.
In total there are about 17.000 universities in the world. The QS World University Rankings evaluates 700 of the world's best and ranks the top 400. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was ranked first, followed by the University of Cambridge and Harvard University.
Recently, Umeå University was listed among the world's top 300 in the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). In addition, Umeå University was ranked among the world's best by two international ranking systems in spring 2012. These lists focused on young universities with great promise for the future.
