Welcome to the grand opening of new campus pond area on 30 September
On Thursday 30 September at 11:00 am – 12:00 noon, Umeå University will ceremonially open its newly renovated pond area at Campus Umeå.
A large deck with many seating places has been built outside Lindell Hall and the pond has been dredged. Bicycle and pedestrian paths have been built and beautiful wooden piers with seating at the edges of the pond have been constructed. The path closest to the water is linked by a bridge over to the tiny island. Trees, shrubs and flowers have been planted and lighting has been installed in the area.

11:00–11:15 am: Musical entertainment with Rulle Lindberg's Quartet
11:15–11:40 am: Grand opening ceremony by the campus pond
Speeches by Lena Gustafsson, vice-chancellor of Umeå University, Matias Lindberg, regional director at Akademiska Hus and Thorbjörn Andersson, architect at Sweco
11:40–12:00 noon: Music entertainment with Rulle Lindberg's Quartet
Students, faculty and staff are sincerely welcome to attend!
Complimentary light snacks will be served.
The grand opening ceremony is a collaboration between Umeå University and Akademiska Hus.
