About the course

This course provides an introduction to the technical and social aspects of information technology (IT). The components of computers and how they work are explained. Different application areas of IT are presented together with an introduction to how these applications are designed. Principles of data communication and computer networks are introduced, and large-scale nets are discussed together with the social consequences of their use. Risks and related ethical issues of IT are also covered.

Level of Education: Basic without academic experience
