About the course
Students will gain an understanding of basic evolutionary theory and be able to interpret different biological phenomena from an evolutionary perspective. Theoretical topics include origin of variation, selection, migration, genetic drift, phylogeny and molecular evolution, coevolution, life-history and speciation theory. Highly current examples such as HIV-AIDS, genetically modified organisms, antibiotic resistance, host-parasite interactions, sex and gender are used to illustrate theory.
