Biophysical Chemistry: Spectroscopy, 7.5 Credits
About the course
The course provides an understanding of the interaction of atoms/molecules with electromagnetic radiation. Depending on properties of the radiation different atomic/molecular processes occur, which constitute different branches of spectroscopy, e.g. nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. A survey of the most common spectroscopic methods and techniques is presented, i.e. NMR, UV-VIS and IR spectroscopy. The course outlines what molecular information can be obtained by means of the different methods/techniques. Given also is an overview of some common applications in chemistry, biosciences and biotechnology.
Level of Education: Basic with academic experience
Notes: The course will be given in english if foreign students participate.Course Menu
