New incoming exchange student nomination procedure

Umeå University has changed its nomination procedure. We now ask that all nominations of incoming exchange students be submitted on-line by the students’ coordinator at the home university. Applications will only be considered if the student(s) have been nominated on-line.

The on-line nomination form will open 1 September/1 February and the deadline for coordinators to fill out the form for the spring term is 15 October and 15 April for the autumn term.

The deadline for the students to fill out the application form for the spring term is 1 November and 1 May for the autumn term.

We advise all partners to nominate their student(s) as soon as possible, two weeks prior to the deadline at the latest. It is very important that students who need a visa apply early as it can take up to three months for the Swedish Migration Board to process the application.

Please make sure to nominate students who have sufficient knowledge of English, both oral and written, so they are able to follow courses. The link to the nomination procedure will be sent to our partners by e-mail a few weeks prior to when the application form opens. If you have not received this e-mail, you should contact either the department you have an agreement with or the International Office at Umeå University.
