Master's Programme in Cognitive Science, 120 Credits

About the programme

Cognitive science is a multidisciplinary subject and our Master's programme offers a variety of advanced courses within the departments of Computer Science, Linguistics, Neuroscience, Philosophy and Psychology. The programme consists of a number of mandatory courses but you will also be able to select courses to further your knowledge in areas of interest. Among the courses you will be able to select are those that enhance practical skills, for example the fMRI courses, and those that exploit theoretical issues such as the course Theoretical Perspectives in Cognitive Science.

Instruction

The programme is given in English. Training in research methods is an important component of the programme. Every specialised course relates to contemporary research and the essence of cognition. Students are based in the Department of Psychology but you are free to specialised in any cognitive science subject. The programme collaborates with other programs on the Master and doctoral level which adds to its multidisciplinary nature.

Career Opportunities

A Master's degree in Cognitive Science is a good preparation for Ph.D. research as well as for work in research and development in the industry. Many employers seek cognitive science graduates that have and understanding of human behaviour and technology as well as skills to perform empirical studies.
