InstructionMaster's Programme in Economics, 120 Credits

This page aims to describe the teaching structure at the Master's Programme in Economics. Please contact the study advisor if you have any questions.

Lectures

You will, for most of the time, follow traditional lectures. The teachers are mainly professors from the Dept. of Economics but we try to involve guest professors to make use of their expert skills. All teaching will be in English and all information about the courses can be found in English as well.

All courses cover five weeks and you are only having one course at the time (no parallel reading). A normal week will have approximately 12-15 lecture hours. During the rest of the time are you supposed to study on your own, or with your fellow students. You can of course visit the professors during their office-hours.

Seminars

Some of the courses, especially during the second year, will use seminars instead of lectures. The seminars are often used for discussing relevant scientific articles, current issues within economics etc.

Students at the program are also encourage to attend the higher seminars  held by the Department where invited guests presents their research.

Exams

Each course has two exam opportunities. The first exam is given in the end of the course and the second exam, for those not achieving a pass on the first attemt, is offered three to four weeks later. Additional exams is also offered in August.
