How to Find your Accommodation
The first thing to do when you arrive in Umeå after a long day of travelling is probably to find your room or apartment. On this page we have gathered the relevant information that you need to help you find where your room or apartment is and advice about how to arrange to pick up your keys.
Make Arrangements in Advance
- Make sure you know where to go to get access to your accommodation. The place that you get your keys from and sign your countract may be located at a different address than your room or apartment.
- Obtain contact information and the name of the person from whom you pick up your keys.
- It is recommended that you arrange a specific time and place in advance to pick up your key. The system where someone lives in, or is stationed in the building who is responsible for these types of things is extremely rare in Sweden. The people who hand out keys are employed to do so during regular office hours and will not be accessible at night or at weekends.
