When should you arrive?
Arriving before the start of the term is always a good idea, but have you thought about the Orientation Course and the opening hours of the housing company?
For the autumn term we recommend that you plan to arrive in Umeå during the first couple of days of the Orientation Course. The Orientation Course is regularly held the week before the start of the term. See the information regarding the Orientation Course and the start of the term under Related Information.
For the spring term we recommend that you plan to arrive in Umeå during the weekend that precedes the start of the term. For information regarding the Orientation Day for the spring term see Related Information.
If you arrive more than a week into the term, you may not be able to retain your place in the programme that you have been accepted to. If you arrive after the start of the term, make sure that you contact your department in order to find out about the possibilities of joining the programme late. If you arrive late at night or at the weekend, you may not be able to access your housing until the following weekday. Make sure to check this with your landlord before your arrival.
