Find your Welcoming letter
Once you have been admitted to a course or programme at Umeå University, you will receive a "Welcoming letter" holding important information from the department responsible for the education. The Welcoming letter may be sent to you by regular mail or e-mail, or may be posted on the web page for the course or programme.
How will I find the Welcoming letter at the web page for the course or programme?
- Note the application code that you will find in your Notification of selection results at universityadmissions.se (or in the Letter of Acceptance, if you are an exchange student).
- Enter the application code in the search field to the right on this page. Exclude the initial "UMU-". Example: if the application code for your course or programme is "UMU-M2054", you should enter only the numbers (in this example, M2054) in the search field.
- Choose 'Autumn 2013' in the drop down list, and then click the "Search" button.
- On the web page where you will land, you will find one or more links to the course or programme. Click any of these links and you will reach the course or programme page.
- You will find the welcoming letter in the menu to the right at course pages, and in the top left menu at programme pages.
What's in the Welcoming letter?
In the Welcoming letter you will find information about how, when and where you should register for the course and where the education will take place. If web registration in the student portal (Portalen) is being used for the course, you will find information in the letter explaining during which period of time you can/need to register, and how to do it.
