Application Information for EU/EEA Citizens
We welcome applications from students who have citizenship in a European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) country, or Switzerland. Furthermore, you are exempt from paying application and tuition fees.
Please note that you must be a citizen of an EU/EEA country or Switzerland. Applicants with temporary or permanent residency in an EU/EEA country are required to pay fees.
We know that there is a great deal of information to read through, but please take the time to read it. You should pay special attention to the How to Apply page and make sure that you include all of the necessary documents in your application. Otherwise your application will be considered incomplete and we will not be able to admit you.
All applications are made on-line, via the National Application System University Admissions. There are no fees and tuition is free for EU/EEA and Swiss citizens.
Additional Application Period: 15 March - 16 April 2013
Applicants from EU/EEA countries are encouraged to apply during the main application periods: 1 December - 15 January for the autumn term or 1 June through 15 August for the spring term. However, you may apply during the same application period as Swedish applicants.
To apply during the Swedish application round, you will need to create a profile at www.universityadmissions.se. You can then search for the course you are interested in an complete an application.

We highly encourage you to register register with the municipal housing company in Umeå - Bostaden - as soon as possible (the sooner the better), as this will increase your chances of obtaining housing through them. Registering does not entail any obligation to rent from them, and it does not cost anything!
