You can enter keywords in the search text box or simply leave it empty.
By combining your keywords with e.g. a specified academic term or rate of studies, you will get better search results. If you haven’t found what you are searching for, check the spelling of the keywords, remove one or more keywords, or change your choices in the checked boxes.

Rate of study 100%, 50% or 25%? Rate of study is the tempo of the course. A 7.5 credit course at 100% tempo lasts five weeks, at 50% it would be 10 weeks, 25% would be 20 weeks or a entire term. It is also important to know that in the Swedish system of study, students take one course at a time. You need to remember is to choose courses that are given at different times during the term so that you do not end up with four courses that all start in the middle of October.

Full-time studies comprise of 40 weeks per academic year (two terms), which are equivalent to 60 credits (ECTS). One academic term of full-time study is 30 credits. For example, you can take four 7.5 credit courses at 100% rate of study given at different periods in one academic term.

Distance or web-based studies?
Distance education courses require at least one on-campus meeting, while web-based or online courses are held entirely via the Internet. If you are only enrolled in Web-based courses, you will not need to make arrangements to live in Umeå. In other words, you can study anywhere in the world as long as you have internet access.

Programme or course? Courses typically are given in one subject area. Programmes are made up of several courses and if you are enrolled in a programme, you are guaranteed a seat in all courses included in that programme. At Umeå University, programmes generally lead to a degree of bachelor or master.
