Think – an inquisitive magazine
Think describes Umeå University's research, education and cooperation in an exciting and new thinking way.
In the latest issue of Think focus lies on democracy with the upcoming Swedish general election in autumn 2018 in mind, but also a historic and global perspective.
Democracy is something that is often taken for granted in Sweden. But that hasn’t always been the case. It was only 100 years since Sweden introduced universal suffrage in municipal elections, that is equal rights to vote, and this can be seen as the decisive step in providing Sweden with a democratic form of government.
Democracy, however, is not taken for granted in other parts of the world. Great parts of the global population live in countries without democratic elections and where public participation isn’t high on the agenda. So, what will the future hold? And is democracy under threat?
The magazine's target audiences include alumni and external collaborative parterns, but it is also available at Umeå Airport.
