Housing for Exchange Students

Umeå University can assist accepted students from partner universities with accommodationThrough the International Housing Office. However, this is only possible if deadlines and requirements are met. According to Swedish law, this special service is only available for exchange students from universities with which Umeå University has a signed student exchange agreement.

We can offer single-occupancy student room accommodation in student corridors. Our accommodation is off-campus, but within walking distance of the campus. We are proud that we are perhaps Sweden's only University that offers not only a housing guarantee (if you meet our requirements), but also the possibility to choose your own accommodation from our housing stock. Our housing stock consists of some 350 student rooms that are located in four different student housing areas.
