Since 2019, Vindelälven-Juhttátahkka is a biosphere reserve within the United Nation’s Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO’s) “Man and the Biosphere Programme”. Arcum organizes a network for scientists with a research interest in Vindelälven-Juhttátahkka, for whom seminars and workshops are arranged. Project preparedness is the main aim with the network, i.e. to facilitate the formation of research collaborations in relation to forthcoming research calls with the Vindelälven- Juhttátahkka biosphere reserve as a starting point.
So far 30 persons are included in Arcum’s Vindelälven-Juhttátahkka biosphere reserve network, representing a wide range of scientific topics, such as Arctic research, forestry, political science, geography, biology, climate change, history, philosophy, regional development, economy, and Sami and other Indigenous research.
