About AI in Health and Medicine

This area represents a human-centered AI approach in health and medicine. The aim is to bring clinical and technical researchers together in mutual projects where cutting-edge technologies will be applied and adjusted to clinical circumstances to solve prevailing problems. This focus area also aims at establishing strong networks to spread knowledge of opportunities, limitations and prerequisites concerning the application of AI and machine learning within health and medicine. It aims to collect experiences with applied AI in the field nationally and internationally, to boost local activities and enable a head start in local applications where possible.

TAIGA's Focus Area AI for Health and Medicine is coordinated by Paolo Medini a Docent in statistics and data analysis at Umeå University. His research focuses on developing statistical methods for analysing complex data, particularly in the fields of medicine and biology.
