The course in Advanced Biomedicine is composed by the four Areas of Excellence at Umeå University: infection, cancer, metabolic diseases and the neurological system. The course is divided into several theme parts that also include training in bioinformatics, biostatistics, theory of literature handling and reference systems.
180 ECTS including at least 120 ECTS in any of the main field of studies Biomedicine, Medicine, Odontology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Laboratory Science or corresponding. At least 30 ECTS from completed courses in Chemistry; documented practical experience of laboratory work comprising a minimum of 30 ECTS. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English B/6.
Applicants in some programs at Umeå University have guaranteed admission to this course. The number of places for a single course may therefore be limited.
