About the course

The course introduces some of the dominant legal systems of the world and analyses their historical development, as well as the basic contrasts between them, examining such questions as what is law, what are relevant legal sources and what is the role of different legal institutions. The course also includes comparing specific substantive and procedural topics, for example contracts, sales, family law, as well as civil and criminal procedural law.
