About the course

The overall purpose of the course is to provide coverage of the products, analytical techniques for valuing bonds and quantifying their exposure to changes in interest rates, and portfolio strategies for achieving investment objectives.


The course will cover the following topics:

  • Pricing of bonds.
  • Measuring yield.
  • Bond price volatility.
  • The term structure of interest rates.
  • Factors affecting bond yields and the term structure of interest rates.
  • Interest rate models.
  • Analysis of bonds with embedded options.
  • Active bond portfolio management strategies.
  • Interest rate futures contracts and interest rate options.
  • Interest rate swaps.
