About the course

This course aims at critical exploration of current issues in social work in an international context.  Social work in global sociopolitical contexts, cultures and ideologies behind ways of organising social work is discussed. Social work models are discussed and contextualized. The global relevance and transferences of current issues in social work like evidence based practice, de-professionalization versus professionalization are examined in the course

Required Knowledge

A minimum of 90 ECTS  within one of the following: Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Peace and conflict studies, Gender Studies, Economic and social geography, Political science, Law/legal Science
or in other courses that are considered equal to thus above, including a minimum of 15 ECTS bachelor thesis. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English A/5. Entry requirements
