About the course

In the course different theoretical perspectives on leadership and leader development are in focus. A key feature is to analyze leadership practices by using group training activities and team- and individual sports in different age groups. The relationship between individual and group development is also examined within the context of outdoor education. Finally, disability and ability is discussed from a critical viewpoint in order to increase the student’s knowledge and experience of adapted physical activities and health promotion.

In the course, we will be going out on outdoor adventure. In order to be able to participate, in all the learning, and all the fun, you will need outdoor adventure articles as rucksack, sleeping bag, rainwear, plate, glass, cutlery and personal gear. You also need a bicycle.

Outline for distance course

The teaching is organized through lectures, seminars, group exercises and tutorials. The teaching activities may, as a whole or partly, be carried out with support from information and communication technology (ICT), which demands specific technical equipment and skills. Compulsory modules are; outdoor activity, scheduled leadership task, adapted physical activity and group training task. The course will be given in English.

Basic eligibility. Exception from demands on Swedish will be granted if the course is given in English.
