About course

The work can be chosen from a variety of topics within the field of physics. The student is given the opportunity to practice her/his knowledge within some supervised specialized project. The aims are to promote advanced skills and competence within the field, to develop skills in collecting and compiling data and in accounting for the results obtained, both orally and in written form.

Required Knowledge

At least 30 ECTS credits in physics on an advanced level, and all relevant courses for the thesis. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English A (IELTS (Academic) with a minimum overall score of 5.5 and no individual score below 5.0. TOEFL PBT (Paper-based Test) with a minimum total score of 530 and a minimum TWE score of 4. TOEFL iBT (Internet-based Test) with a minimum total score of 72 and a minimum score of 17 on the Writing Section). Where the language of instruction is Swedish, applicants must prove proficiency in Swedish to the level required for basic eligibility for higher studies.

Selection

Academic credits Applicants in some programs at Umeå University have guaranteed admission to this course. The number of places for a single course may therefore be limited.
