The course focuses on advanced statistical methods for population analysis. Throughout the course students will learn and apply different methods and analyses for various types of population data, for example registry data, surveys, censuses and parish records. The course deals with different quantitative methods used for population analysis, such as life tables, population rates and population prognoses, as well as linear and logistic regressions, which are useful for population analyses. By using unique Swedish and international population data in practical sessions, the students will develop and practice their knowledge in longitudinal data preparation, processing and analyses.
