Quality Techniques and Design of Experiments

  • Number of credits 7.5 credits

About the course

The course covers three main topics: linear models, statistical quality techniques and design of experiments (DOE). The linear models part puts special focus on one way ANOVA, randomized block experiments and linear regression. The quality technique part deals with the seven tools for improvement, statistical process control using control diagrams, capability analysis and gauge R & R. The DOE part covers factorial designs, fractional factorial designs, methods for estimating response surfaces and an introduction to factorial designs with more than two factor levels. Compulsory computer laborations are included.

The course can also be included in the subject area of computational science and engineering.
