In this course social law in Nordic welfare contexts is studied both as a field of law and a field of legal research. Legal sources and actors in this field of law, national regulations in light of international laws and the intersection with other fields of law are tackled. Comparative and critical perspectives are applied in analysis of the transformation of Nordic welfare models and the economic, political and social dimensions of social law. Interdisciplinary themes such as the relations between individual persons, families, state and market, and work and welfare provision are dealt with in the course.
