About the course

The aim of the course is to encourage a contextual and reflexive understanding of the changing roles and functions of the social sciences of the past and in today's globalised world. Its main focus is concerned with the dynamic relationship between the social sciences and society at large including themes such as gender and the rise of social science, science and politics, disciplinarity and interdisciplinarity, internationalisation and stratification, together with postcolonial perspectives.

The course is taught in English.

Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English A/5.
