The course gives an overview of international tourism research at advanced level. In this context tourism is not least considered as the social science of mobility. The course addresses issues such as tourism spaces, globalization, tourism behaviour, special-interest tourism, tourism planning and the environment. Special importance is given to different perspectives on tourism as to theories of social science. For more detailed information as to course requirements.

Applicants in some programs at Umeå University have guaranteed admission to this course. The number of places for a single course may therefore be limited.
