About the course

The focus of the course is applied, advanced cartography. This entails in-depth understanding of fonts, colour and symbols, as well as corresponding practical applications in GIS in terms of labelling techniques, colour choice and symbolization. Theoretical and critical views of GIS as a tool, as well as maps as conveyors of information, are also given attention. Furthermore, the course provides an introduction to the post-processing of maps in raster and vector graphics software (Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, respectively).

Students applying for courses within a double degree exchange agreement, within the departments own agreements will be given first priority. Then will - in turn - candidates within the departments own agreements, faculty agreements, central exchange agreements and other departmental agreements be selected.
