About the course

The course provides advanced knowledge of modern methods for the measurement and control of accelerators forradiotherapy.
The course covers radiation dosimetry of external beam therapy sources, with special focus on photons and electrons aswell as parameters that affect the radiation field appearance and spectral distribution. Also radiation field with protons andlight ions are included. Furthermore international protocol for dosimetry and calibration of dosimeters as well as the use ofair and liquid ionisation chambers, Fricke, diode, films etc. for the measurement and monitoring of therapy radiationsources are also included.
The course also includes dosimetry on brachytherapy sources.

Required Knowledge

University: Radiation Dosimetry, 15 ECTS and Radiation Biology and Radiation Protection, 7.5 ECTS, or corresponding. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English A/6. Where the language of instruction is Swedish, applicants must prove proficiency in Swedish to the level required for basic eligibility for higher studies.

Selection

Students applying for courses within a double degree exchange agreement, within the departments own agreements willbe given first priority. Then will - in turn - candidates within the departments own agreements, faculty agreements, centralexchange agreements and other departmental agreements be selected.
