For our partner universities

Umeå University annually welcomes around 900 exchange students from all over the world. On this page you will find further information about the nomination procedure. We look forward to seeing your students at our university.


If you plan to send exchange students to Umeå University they must be nominated online through Solemove (Umeå University's administrative system for student mobility). Should you not have received log in information, please contact the department at Umeå University which you have signed the exchange agreement with.

Applications will only be considered if the students have been nominated before the deadline. Once the nomination is submitted, an automatic e-mail with the application instructions will be sent to your students. 

Please make sure to nominate students who have sufficient knowledge of English, both oral and written, so they are able to follow their courses.

Where can I find the link to the nomination?

The nomination instructions should be sent to you by the department/faculty you have signed the exchange agreement with. The International Office at Umeå University sends out instructions to all our central (university-wide) partner universities.

Which information should be included?

When you log in to Solevemoe the form you will be asked to provide us with the following details:

  • Contact details to you and to your students
  • The students date of birth
  • Exchange programme
  • Exchange period
  • Agreement

When is the nomination and application deadline?

In the event of the dates below occurring on a weekend/holiday, the deadlines are postponed to the nearest weekday.

Spring term
Nominations: 1 October
Applications: 15 October

Autumn term
Nominations: 1 April 
Applications: 15 April
