About the course
The objective of this course is to understand how geographic information systems can be used to analyze raster data, in particular digital elevation models, using the software ArcGIS. Assignments are based on solving problems within ecology and Earth science by, for example, interpolating spatial data, determining stream networks and catchments, and creating least-cost paths.

The course Geographic information systems 1, Scientific data, 7,5 ECTS credits (course code 5GV018), or equivalent knowledge. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English B/6.

Students applying for courses within a double degree exchange agreement, within the departments own agreements will be given first priority. Then will - in turn - candidates within the departments own agreements, faculty agreements, central exchange agreements and other departmental agreements be selected.
