About the course

The course deals with equipment and methods for X-ray diagnostics, primarily for clinical applications, and provides training in optimizing and controlling such equipment.
The course covers techniques and methods in for instance conventional  x-ray diagnostics, computer tomography, image quality and patient dose optimization. Furthermore, description of image delivery systems with scattering and transfer functions, Fourier transformation and digital image processing is discussed. The course includes a compulsory laboratory part.

Required Knowledge

University: Access to the course requires at least 90 credits including the courses Medical orientation 5 ECTS or Medicine for engineers 6 ECTS, Measurement methods and radiation detectors 7.5 ECTS alternatively Industrial radiation physics 7.5 ECTS or equivalent knowledge. English A/6 and Swedish for basic eligibility for university studies if the education is given in Swedish.
 

 

Selection

Students applying for courses within a double degree exchange agreement, within the departments own agreements will be given first priority. Then will - in turn - candidates within the departments own agreements, faculty agreements, central exchange agreements and other departmental agreements be selected.
