In the programmme, two master theses are being written. As a student, this gives you the possibilities to apply the knowledge that you have gained during the programme and to develop a deeper understanding of, and specialization in, health economics.
In the latest part of both the first and the second academic year a master thesis is being written, each comprising 15 ECTS credits.
For a two-year master degree, thesis work comprises 30 ECTS credits. There is an advantage in dividing this into two separate theses. The first one, being done during the first year, may for instance be used to do a study protocol – a plan for the second year thesis. This plan includes a literature review for the chosen research questions and for the method/s planned to be used. The work during the second year may be an empirical work, which means that you as a student have the opportunity to collect data.
Thesis work is being done with guidance from a supervisor appointed by our department. You will defend your thesis in a seminar.
Planning for the first thesis starts during the first semester. You will have several occasions to discuss the choice of topic and research questions.
