I am Johan Olofsson. I am a professor in Ecology and the programme coordinator.Great that you are interested in our master program and looking forward to soon meet all of you.If you receive this list you are on the list of students accepted for the programme. Please note that some of you have been accepted with certain conditions and have to complement with some documents like proof of previous degree or similar. Please check that and let me know if there is any problem.

How to start

  • 2. Course registration

At the start of the master programme in Ecology HT 2021 at Umeå University you must choose between two different courses at the start of the semester: Forest Ecology and Aquatic Ecosystems. It is also possible to take the course Arctic Ecosystems, but this is based in Abisko 700km north of Umeå and thus normally a course students take in their second year.

You will then all read Analysis of Field Data as the second course (if you have not already taken it).

You will all be accepted to all courses but only register for the course you will take. It is really great if you can email me which course you are planning to take so we can prepare.

If you have any questions about how to register, please contact johan.olofsson@umu.se, or maria.karlsson01@umu.se.

Since the registration only opens one week before the start of the programme, it is really great if you let me know whether you are planning to choose Forest Ecology or Aquatic Ecosystems, on email: johan.olofsson@umu.se.

Both courses start August 30 2021, and have a common introduction to the progamme. Details and halls are given in the course schedule for Forest Ecology and Aquatic Ecosystems.
