Syllabus

The Master's Program in economics is a two year program but with an option to study one year only. You can read more about the program outline below.

1st Semester (fall)

Mathematics 7.5 ECTS
Econometrics 7.5 ECTS
Microeconomics I 7.5 ECTS
Microeconomics II 7.5 ECTS

Options

The first semester gives you the methodological skills needed for advanced level studies in Economics.

2nd Semester (spring)

Labour Economics or Public Economics 7.5 ECTS
Macroeconomics I 7.5 ECTS
Master Thesis I 15 ECTS

The second semester contains, in addition to the initial courses, the first Master Thesis. You choose a subject on your own, an opportunity that gives you a chance to deepen you knowledge in your favorite area.

3rd Semester (fall)

Courses within the profile "Environmental- and Resource Economics" 30 ECTS
Courses within the profile "Health Economics" 30 ECTS
Elective if no profile is chosen 30 ECTS

You can during the third semester select on of the profile areas at the program; "Environmental- and Resource Economics" or "Health Economics". The courses you will study during the semester is offered by our partners at SLU or the Faculty of Medicine.

If you don't want to study one of the profiles then the third semester will be the time for electives. You can apply fo courses in other subjects, do a semester abroad or do an internship period during this fall semester.

4th Semester (spring)

Labour Economics or Public Economics 7,5 ECTS
Environmental and Resource Economics or Health Economics 7,5 ECTS
Master Thesis II 15 ECTS

The fourth and final semester contains the course in Labour- or Public economics not offered during the second semester but also a course within your chosen profile area. The semester, and your time at the program, ends with your second thesis. If you are following one of our profiles then the subject of the thesis must be within your profile area.
