  • Practical info

    Housing
Housing for students in Umeå is mainly in special students’ housing with a number of rooms sharing a kitchen, but each with its own toilet. A student room is the cheapest housing. Keep in mind that it`s not allowed to live more than one person in each student room!

For tuition-paying students and students with scholarships:
Umeå University assists tuition-paying students and Students with tuition reduction/scholarships by helping them to find accommodation in student rooms.
    Find a place to live

For students coming from outside Sweden and who are exempted from paying tuition fees (for example European citizens): Accommodation is an important concern and the International Housing Office is only mandated to help exchange and tuition-fee paying international students in this regard.
    More info:EU student housing

You can also find a lot of other practical information in the “The International Student Guide”

UISPH friends (UISPH=Umeå International school of Public Health)
In June, our current students, (UISPH friends) will create a Facebook platform where you can chat with them. You will have the possibility to chat and ask them anything – about the arrival, what autumn is like in Umeå, what you might need to bring, etc. Link will be published in June.

When you arrive here, you will meet some of them in person and they will help you to get familiar with Umeå and studying at UISPH.

If you have any questions concerning this or other study related matters, please contact us! Once again warmly welcome!

    Director of studies: Marie Lindkvist
    Programme administrator: Angelica Johansson
