Contents

The core content of this course is integration of feminist/gender theories and practice. A major part of the course consists of practice-related studies in the public or private sector, or in non-governmental organizations.

Expected learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student shall be able to:
- demonstrate the ability to independently identify and formulate gender-relevant questions connected to the internship,
- demonstrate the ability to plan and carry out an individually written assignment within specified time limits;
- demonstrate the ability to verbally and in writing present and discuss conclusions and the knowledge and arguments behind them, in dialogue with others, and
- demonstrate the ability to identify the personal need for further knowledge and to take responsibility for the personal competence development.

Required Knowledge

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent first-cycle qualification comprising of at least 180 ECTS or a corresponding qualification from an internationally recognised university. And English proficiency equivalent to English A/6 from Swedish Upper secondary education.

Form of instruction

The course is a full time on-line course in English. The course is taught entirely through an electronic Learning Management System. This is where the student takes part in lectures and other learning activities and a written assignment. The studies are characterized by a high degree of independent and active search for knowledge, reflection and critical scientific analysis. 
 
A major part of the course consists of practice-related studies. The student has the responsibility to arrange the internship which has to be approved by the course coordinator before registration on the course. Eventual costs in relation to the internship is met by the student.
 
During the course the student is expected to give an account of optional gender related issues connected to the internship.

Examination modes

Examination takes place through fulfillment of:
1) Mandatory assignments during the course,
2) An individually written essay.

Examination is in total the completion of mandatory assignments and the completion of the individually written essay. For the first part the grades are Fail (U) or Pass (G). For the second part the grades are Fail (U), Pass (G) and Pass with Distinction (VG). The grades for the whole course are Fail (U), Pass (G) and Pass with Distinction (VG). The grade for the whole course in based on the examination of part 2. The whole course is not graded until the first part of the course is fulfilled.
