  1. User observation and activity analysis, 4.5 ects.
The section focuses on design methodology for user studied, and includes observations, interviews, activity studies and work analysis. Different perspectives on user-centred design are introduced and a workshop is carried out with the theme problem visualisation by means of charts and morphological analysis. The focus of the section is the relation between specific design methodology and concrete project work.
  2. Design and development work for specialised use, 9 ects.
The section gives practical training in designing a complex product or a system with concerns to cognitive aspects as well as physiological aspects. • demonstrate knowledge and understanding for different procedures within the field of user-centred design, such as observation, activity studies, interviews and process analysis.
  • apply these methods in practical project work.
  • apply a complete design process in project work, with a starting point in identifying the problem, and with completion in a finalised design proposal.
  • use oral and visual presentation techniques by means of relevant software, such as Flash.
  • use the various documentation traditions of science and art.
  • demonstrate basic knowledge in academic writing.
