Important information about publishing with MDPI

The publisher MDPI has been criticised in recent debate for inadequacies in the editorial process and peer review. The University Library recommends that anyone considering publishing with MDPI should critically review the journal in question.

A 10% discount on the open access publishing fee is available through an agreement between the library and MDPI. The discount applies to all MDPI journals.

Terms and conditions

  • You must be the corresponding author, i.e., the one handling communication with the publisher and journal.
  • Your Umeå University affiliation must be stated in the published article.
  • Use your university e-mail ending with The e-mail domain is often used to recognize your eligibility.
  • Your article will be published under a CC BY license.
