Virtual autonomous vehicles at CVT2018

NEWS The Commercial Vehicle Technology Symposium 2018 (CVT2018) was held 13-15 March in Kiaserslautern. Martin Servin from UMIT and Michael Brandl from Algoryx Simulation was there and presented work on virtual environments for autonomous vehicles.

The Commercial Vehicle Technology Symposium is a two-day conference taking place at the campus of the University of Kaiserslautern. The conference includes roughly 50 presentations focusing international trends and technological developments of the commercial vehicle industry. It is accompanied by a technical exhibition and a special vehicle exhibition.

Martin Servin presented "Physics-based virtual environments for autonomous earthmoving and mining machinery". The paper describe the scientific foundation for constructing virtual environments that support the development of earthmoving and mining machinery with autonomous capabilities. A methodology for computational design exploration of an autonomous load-haul-dump machine in a physics-based VE is also presented.
