Luktlab

Research infrastructure At the smell lab at the Department of Psychology, we conduct research on, among other aspects, issues related to environmental intolerances.

This problem area requires a multidisciplinary and methodologically broad approach. Therefore, we apply research methods of a laboratory, epidemiological and qualitative nature. For the laboratory part, there are specially adapted labs for controlled exposure of odorous substances in an exposure chamber and exposure via dynamic olfactometers. We also have equipment for performing electrophysiological recordings of brain activity as well as recordings of skin conductance, breathing frequency and ECG. Related to this, there is also a sound-insulated chamber for studying physiological and perceptual responses in, for example, intolerance to sound.
