Information for students, faculty and staff regarding COVID-19. (Updated: 21 January 2021)
Research project Coalition Umeå for Life Science (CU4LS) is based in Northern Sweden and focuses on life science research spanning from molecules to man. CU4LS comprises research centres, infrastructures and other relevant resources in Umeå active in fields such as molecular analysis, medicine, marine and plant life, imaging technologies as well as computational resources.
CU4LS is an initiative aiming to improve the visibility and highlight the strengths of Life Science research in Umeå nationally and internationally. The idea is to involve as many partners as possible, including research centres/units and infrastructures working in life science research and located in or around Umeå. The overall goal is to present the highly active life science environment in Umeå with state-of-the-art infrastructures to attract top scientists, national and international grants for research and infrastructures and facilitate local, national and international collaborations.
The Coalition Umeå for Life Science (CU4LS) was initiated in 2020 and 23 research centres/units and research infrastructures working in the field of life science showed already their interest in joining the coalition.
The Chemical Biological Centre (KBC) acts as a temporary node for the initiation and coordination of CU4LS and received funding from the involved universities and faculties for this, i.e. the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Science and Technology, both from Umeå University, and the Faculty of Forestry from SLU.
The initial idea is to create a communication platform on which research news, events and activities of the coalition partners are presented. It shall be strongly interconnected with the existing resources of the individual partners as well as of Umeå University, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and the University Hospital of Umeå to complement these resources.
(More information about each partner can be found on their webpages)
